1. Agreement to Terms
By accessing or using Facta ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service.
2. Description of Service
Facta provides an MCP (Model Context Protocol) server that enables AI agents to search for and verify legal sources including cases, statutes, and regulations. The Service is designed to assist with legal research but is not a substitute for professional legal advice.
3. Account Registration
To use the Service, you must create an account. You agree to:
- Provide accurate and complete information
- Maintain the security of your account credentials and API keys
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use
- Accept responsibility for all activity under your account
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to circumvent rate limits or usage quotas
- Share or resell API access without authorization
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
- Use the Service to generate spam or misleading content
- Misrepresent the Service's output as official legal advice
5. API Keys
API keys are issued for your use only. You are responsible for:
- Keeping your API keys confidential
- All usage that occurs with your API keys
- Immediately revoking compromised keys
We reserve the right to revoke API keys that violate these terms or are associated with abusive behavior.
6. Subscriptions and Billing
Paid plans are billed in advance on a monthly basis. You agree that:
- Subscription fees are non-refundable except as required by law
- We may change pricing with 30 days notice
- Failure to pay may result in suspension of service
- You can cancel your subscription at any time; access continues until the end of the billing period
7. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT:
- The Service will be uninterrupted or error-free
- Legal sources returned are complete, accurate, or current
- The Service is suitable for any particular purpose
Facta is a research tool, not a legal service. Output from Facta should not be relied upon as legal advice. Always verify information with authoritative sources and consult qualified legal professionals.
8. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, FACTA SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR USE, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.
Our total liability for any claims under these terms shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
9. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Facta and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from your use of the Service or violation of these terms.
10. Modifications to Service
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service at any time, with or without notice. We will not be liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation.
11. Termination
We may terminate or suspend your access immediately, without prior notice, for any reason, including breach of these terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.
12. Governing Law
These terms shall be governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
13. Changes to Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the new terms on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
